Fritton Lake Triple Big Swim 2018

Sabine Schaefer and Simon Smith from TAC took part in the Fritton Lake Big Swim which comprised of 3 individual swims – 5k, 3k and 1500m. Great North Run 2018

Kayleigh Bailey and Martin Godfrey joined the stars and elites at the Great North Run 2018. With a record breaking number of people running and in unusually warm temperatures for September, Kayleigh clocked a time of 2:17:18 and Martin 2:13:56

Clacton Standard Triathlon

Gary Malliband travelled to Clacton to take part in the Standard Distance Triathlon. The event which raised money for the Brain and Spine Foundation consisted of a 1900m choppy sea swim, followed by a 40k bike and 10k run. Gary finished in 2:28:43 to secure 9th place in his age group.

County Honours at South of England Championships

COUNTY HONOURS AT SOUTH OF ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS Four Thetford AC athletes earned a County call up and represented Norfolk at the South of England U15 & U20 Inter-Counties Track and Field Championships, held in Oxford. Senior County Honours for Jess

Thetford athlete Jessica Norkett was selected for the Norfolk Senior ladies team for the Hibbard Trophy event held in Bury St Edmunds. This event brought together athletes from the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk,Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex to contest for the Hibbard/Bemax trophy. Wissey Half Marathon

Father and son Brian and Karl Wright took part in the Wissey Half Marathon on Sunday. The race started and finished in the village of Oxborough and is a fast flat run round the Norfolk countryside. In very warm conditions Karl completed the course in 1:43:45 and Brian in 2:07:07

This years South of England Track and Field Championships was held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre. The weekend proved successful with several Thetford athletes bringing home medals.
