Final XC Race in Suffolk Winter League

In the last race of the Suffolk Winter Cross Country League at Haverhill Thetford runners were met with very little mud but a tough challenging hilly course. Colchester Half Marathon

At Colchester Half Marathon Thetford Athletics Club were represented by 3 athletes. Kelly McGill achieved a PB by 7 mins in 1:54:56  and was accompanied on the run by Andrew Smith and Kayleigh Bayleigh 2:06:30. They have been training together throughout the Winter ready to take on the Manchester Marathon in 2 weeks time.

Wymondham 20

Thetford runners did the club proud at the Wymondham 20 on Sunday. In warm clear blue sky conditions many of the runners were using the 20 mile race as an event to compliment their marathon training. Marathon no 99 for Lauren

Lauren Goldsmith completed her 99th marathon (and 5th in 5 weeks) at The Enigma Marathon in Milton Keynes. Cambridge Boundary Marathon Achievements

Three more of Thetford’s runners braved the wet and very windy conditions at the weekend to complete the Cambridge Boundary Marathon. The course which is 30% off-road and incorporates several hills was significantly harder with added adverse weather conditions. NATIONAL INTER-COUNTY CROSS COUNTRY ACTION Several Thetford AC athletes had the honour of wearing their County colours and racing at the National Inter-County Cross Country Championships, held at Prestwold Hall in Loughborough. Half and Full Marathons for Thetford Runners

Four Thetford runners took on the Cambridge Half Marathon at the weekend. With 10,000 competitors in wet and windy conditions Neil Vendy was first Thetford athlete back in 1:47:12, followed shortly by Andrew Smith in 1:48:43, Wendy Howard in 2:12:03 and Ann Kirton with a massive half marathon pb in 2:19:22. Marathon No 93 for Lauren

Elsewhere Lauren Goldsmith completed her 96th marathon (and 3rd marathon this year) in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey at the Dirty Dancing Themed Marathon. Lauren finished in 4:48:50.
