Simon Smith won his age group at the Sprint Triathlon Distance at Holme-Pierrepont on Saturday. In very cold conditions Simon was 9th out of the water after the 750m swim but soon moved into first place with a spectacular effort on the 21k bike course. After pushing on during the 5k sprint run he increased his lead and triumphed to first place in his age group in a time of 1:03:30.
