EAST ANGLIAN LEAGUE OPENER
The opening meet of the East Anglian Track and Field League took place in Bury St Edmunds with several Thetford AC athletes making their debuts.
Representing the U11 Girls was Rosie-Mae Jackson (600m: 2:23.1; Long Jump: 2.54m); Lexi Aldridge (600m: 2:28.7, 80m: 14.8); Lyric Allen (80m: 12.3, 600m (2:03.9) and Caoimhe Campbell (80m: 14.2, Long Jump: 2.31m).
In the U11 boys were Monty Findlay (80m: 12.3, Long Jump: 3.70m) and Archie Jackson (80m: 22.3, Long Jump: 2.49m).
The U13 girls were represented by Bethany Wilson (2nd 1500m: 5:38.1 and 3rd in Long Jump: 3.67m) and Alicia Mae Howard (2nd in Shot: 6.43m, 3rd in Javelin: 14.37m and 5th in 100m: 15.5).
In the U13 boys there were Jacob Campbell (7th in 100m: 15.0, 2nd in 800m: 2:34.2 and 5th in Long Jump: 3.38m), Daniel Clouston (2nd in 1500m: 5:07), Alfie Findlay (3rd in 1500m: 6:03.6, 5th in Shot, Long Jump: 4.58m) and Jake Dorbin (2nd in 800m:2:28.8).
The sole competitor in the U15 Girls was Abigail Clouston who came 2nd in 1500m (5:08.5).
Oliver Sanders contested the U15 boys and came 2nd in the 100m (12.2) and 2nd in the 200m (25.6).
In the U17 men’s Josh McGuire came 4th in the 100m (12.6) and 3rd in the 200m (25.3).
Floyd Scott rounded things off in the Senior Men’s by coming 5th in the 100m (12.2) and 4th in the 200m (25.0).
There were some great performances and it was good to see so many U11’s taking part in the EAL for the first time.
