SOUTH OF ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
The South of England Track and Field Championships was this year held at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford, Kent. Athletes from all counties south of the Midlands contest these championships to be crowned South of England Champion.
On the first day, Thetford athlete Jessica Norkett was victorious in the U17 Women’s 1500m, and after a hard fought battle, took the gold medal and championship title.
On the 2nd day of the championships, after finishing 1st and 4th in the heats the previous day, Thetford athletes Ben and James Peck contested the final of the U15 Boys 1500m. James came home in 5th place and Ben just behind in 8th.
