JUNIOR LEAGUE ACTION FINALE
The final round of the Eastern Young Athletes League was held at the UEA Sportspark, Norwich. In this league Thetford AC athletes form a composite ‘Team Norfolk’ along with several other clubs.
In the Under 13 Girls, Bethany Wilson came 3rd in the 1500m (5:39.2) and 6th in the Long Jump (3.58m).
Competing for the U13 Boys, Jake Dorbin was victorious in the 1500m (4:57.2).
Alfie Findlay, also representing the U13 Boys, came 6th in the 200m (34.1) and 5th in the 800m (2:48.1).
Competing up an age group in the U15 Girls was Alícia Mae Howard. Alicia threw a pb in the Shot to come 6th (6.52m), finished 6th in the 100m (15.7) and 2nd in the Hammer with a fantastic pb throw of 25.63m.
In the U17 Women’s competition, Asha Soanes contested the 200m (30.9), came 2nd in the shot with a throw of 10.93m and 1st in the B string Long Jump (5.58m).
Overall it has been a great EYAL series for the Thetford athletes.
