Round Norfolk Relay
The weekend of 14 & 15 September saw Thetford Athletics Club, for the first time, enter two teams into the Round Norfolk Relay. On a perfect weekend of weather, if a little too warm for some of the runners on the Saturday afternoon, the 198 mile route around the coast from Kings Lynn to Great Yarmouth, then in land to follow the border between Suffolk and Norfolk back up to Kings Lynn. 17 stages in little over 29 hours of running and cycling. Thetford may not have won any of the main prizes, but the 34 runners and numerous cyclists and support staff did complete the course and generated memories that will remain longer than the holding of any trophy!
