Five Thetford athletes were in action at the annual Norwich Triathlon weekend. They all took part in the Standard distance triathlon (1500m lake swim, 40k bike, 10k run) at Whitlingham Lake near Norwich. The event saw Gary Malliband take on his first triathlon at this distance and for Karl Wright and Lukasz Ryzinski it was only their second time at this distance. First home for Thetford was Simon Smith in 2:09:06 for a course pb and 9th place overall. Charlotte Smith was 2nd female overall in 2:22:59, Gary Malliband 2:26:52 in 30th place, Karl Wright 2:30:46 for 40th place and Lukasz 2:37:55 in 57th place with a total of 146 athletes completing the course.
