The Lord Mayor’s 5k was first staged on 1996 and is widely regarded as the best 5k road race in the East of England. It immediately precedes the annual Lord Mayor’s Street Procession through Norwich city centre and provides an opportunity to race on a two-lap traffic-free course in front of an enthusiastic crowd estimated to exceed 50,000. The course has a strict 10 minute cut off at the half way point. Tyler Howard and Jason Elrick represented Thetford AC with very impressive times; Tyler in 19:06 and Jason in 20:50.
