Well done to all our club members who took part in this years FLM.

Thetford AC athletes travelled to the capital on Sunday to compete in the prestigious Flora London Marathon. In sweltering temperatures, the highestseen for this event since 1996, meant conditions were tough from the off.

Months and months of hard work and exhausting preparation has gone in orderfor the athletes to be prepared and compete in one of the toughest athletic events - the Marathon.

First home for the club was Cliff Bailey, aiming for a sub 3 hr marathon yet again, Cliff proved he had got his preparations spot on by coming home in 643 place in a superb 2hrs 57 mins and 7 secs.

Next, in her 1st Marathon was Louise Norris who finished in an excellent 4hrs 38 mins and 6 secs,
in3882 place.

Following on close behind were the ever improving Nicola Read in 4 hrs 50 mins and 51 secs,

Gill Paremain in 4 hrs 51 mins and 20 secs

Rosemary Matlock just nipping under the 5 hr barrier in 4 hrs 59 mins and 35 secs.

Rita Norry who again was a marathon virgin, did herself and her family proud with an amazing run. Having only been running for just over a year, to make the marathon start line and finish in 5 hrs 07 mins and 4 secs (6162 place) was brilliant.

Thetford AC are extremely proud of all the athletes who represented the club in such stirling fashion on Sunday, they all an inspiration to both young and old. It just goes to prove no matter what your age or  ability,
