Juniors:

Junior athletics is provided by a dedicated team of qualified athletics coaches.

Thetford Athletic Club’s key aims are:

• Raise the profile of athletics amongst children in the community.

• Introduce children ages 8+ to athletics within a fun, exciting and challenging format.

• Introduce athletics to minority groups.

• Introduce, support and develop coaches, officials and support staff.

• Give the opportunity for children to participate in athletic leagues, star:track, track & field, cross-country, road running, open meetings and championship competitions.

• Help children to improve their athletic skill and give them the opportunity to progress their performance.

• Developing the leadership skills of young athletes.

• To work with local School Sports Partnerships and National Governing Body’s to provide opportunities to develop athletes and coaches.

• To provide dedicated coaches for specific event groups.

The junior athletic club meet at Kilverstone Hall, Thetford, IP24 2RL on the following days:-

 

Monday       6pm - 7pm   

 

Thursday    6pm - 7pm

 

Saturday    10am - 12.00pm

 

All sessions are led by experienced UK Athletics qualified coaches.  Athletes are given the opportunity to experience the full range of track and field events, including all running, jumping and throwing events.

 

Competition is provided in many forms including track and field (Spring/Summer), Cross Country (Autumn/Winter) and indoor Sportshall athletics (Autumn/Winter).
