Holkham 70.3 Half Ironman

The stunning scenery of Holkham Hall was the setting for four of Thetford’s triathletes at the weekend at the OSB Events 70.3 Half Ironman. Under a perfect blue sky and warm conditions they took on the 1.2 mile lake swim followed by a scenic and undulating 56 mile bike course and straight into a 13.1 mile run around the beautiful Holkham estate. Charlotte Smith was first Thetford triathlete to finish in 5:07:56. For Gary Malliband it was only his second ever half ironman which he completed in 5:32:02 for a massive pb. Karl Wright and Richard Crewe were taking on the challenging distance for the first time and both were extremely happy to complete the course – Karl in 5:46:03 and Richard in 6:31:17
