Andrew Smith was the sole Thetford AC runner at the Great South Run 2018. Inspired by his RNR run Andrew went on to achieve another PB in 1:18:42

Thetford AC took to the Loki 5 and 10k events at the weekend. In the 5k Kayleigh Bailey finished as 2nd female. Jason Elrick had a busy race day at the weekend taking part in two 10k races on the same day. Jason achieved a course pb at the Trowse 10k (41:30) and finished in 50th place out of 569 overall. He then rushed to the more local Loki 10k to take part in that as well …

EASTERN REGION COMBINED EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIPS SUCCESS This years Eastern Athletics combined events championships was held at the Embankment Track, Peterborough. Thetford Athletics Club athlete Asha Soanes competed in the U15 Girls Pentathlon and produced a dominant performance, taking the gold medal. Thetford Athletes Simon Smith and Steve Dickens took to the Bedford Autodrome for a fast, furious and extremely wet Sprint Duathlon at the weekend. Thetford athletes took to Haverhill for a duathlon and triathlon at the weekend. Jason Elrick triumphed in 1st place overall in the duathlon (5k run, 22k bike, 5k run) in a time of 1:39:27. Richard Crewe  completed the pool based triathlon (300m swim, 22k bike, 5k run) in 1:32:05 to finish in 55th place.
