Marathon No 93 for Lauren

Elsewhere Lauren Goldsmith completed her 96th marathon (and 3rd marathon this year) in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey at the Dirty Dancing Themed Marathon. Lauren finished in 4:48:50.

There were plenty of TAC vests on show today as Thetford runners competed at the Tarpley 10 and 20 mile events in Beyton near Bury St Edmunds. Nowton Park XC Series

The fourth Cross Country race of the Suffolk League Series took part in a sunny Nowton Park on Sunday. Thetford Athletics Juniors were first to take to the slightly muddy undulating 2.5 mile course and stormed home with some fantastic results. Marriotts’s Way Off-Road Marathon

Lauren Goldsmith completed the Marriott’s Way off road marathon which follows the path from Norwich to Aylsham and is supported by the East Anglian Air Ambulance. Lauren finished (with an extra mile detour) in 4:57:22.

Barrow 5k Success

David Loomes and Lauren Goldsmith were in top form at the Barrow 5k at the weekend. David finished in 1st place and also set a new course record in 19:28, Lauren grabbed 2nd female position in 25:41.

ATHLETICS INDOOR COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS Kings Lynn was the venue for the 2019 indoor track and field county championships which also incorporated the Keith Ward Championship event. Rauceby Ripper XC 2019

Simon and Charlotte Smith travelled to Lincolnshire to take part in the Rauceby Ripper 8.7 mile rugged terrain XC event. With some ice, snow, mud and a ploughed field Simon completed the course in 58:40 to finish 3rd overall and 1st in his age group. Charlotte followed in 1:09:15 for 4th female.
