On Sunday six of Thetford AC athletes endured the really cold winds to take part in the Stowmarket Scenic 7, a unique picturesque 7 mile race in Suffolk which is relatively flat with only a couple of undulations.
The course starts at Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre and heads out through Onehouse and Harleston then makes a three-mile loop back to Harleston before returning along the same route through Onehouse and back to the finish.
Out of the 423 competitors first home for Thetford was Jason Elrick in 56th place with a time of 49:08 followed by Richard Crewe in 86th with a time of 52:04. Natalie King finished 118th with a time of 54:34 and Kayleigh Bailey finished 197th in 59:22, finishing with a joint time of 01:07:49 were both Wendy Howard and Ann Kirton in 314th and 315th place respectively.
