Thetford Triathletes were back in action at two events over the weekend. In perfect warm and still conditions Simon and Charlotte Smith took on the Nottingham Outlaw Half Ironman which attracts 1500 competitiors. The race consists of a 1.2 mile lake swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run. Simon finished with a course pb in 4:39:01 in 39th place overall. Charlotte also achieved a pb in 5:09:06 and finished 3rd in her age group and 11th female overall. First prize for supporting goes to Sabine Schaefer who travelled through the night to Nottingham for an impromptu visit and provided fantastic support throughout the race!
Elsewhere Gary Malliband competed in the Newmarket Sprint Triathlon involving a 300m pool swim, 14 mile bike, 2.4 mile run. Gary also achieved a pb in 1:03:12 coming 11th overall and 3rd in his age group.
